  • 15 ounces of white cake mix, basically 1 box
  • 1 and a half cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup of water
  • ⅓ cup of unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 small spoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • Frostings and sprinkles

  • Start preheating the oven at 350 degrees F. Spray on two cupcake pans with the cooking spray and then fill with the cupcake liners, then keep the pans aside.
  • Take a small bowl and add the chocolate chips and 1 small spoon of cake mix. Now, toss the bowl until the chips are properly coated, and then set the bowl aside.
  • Now, using a stand mixer, mix the remaining cake mix, water, butter, eggs, and pumpkin spice, and mix on medium speed for 2-3 mins until everything is combined properly.
  • After mixing, add the pumpkin puree and mix it again for a minute. Now, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Then, remove the bowl from the mixture and add chocolate chips to the bowl and use a spatula to gently fold them into the batter.
  • Now, pour the batter into the prepared pans, filling each cavity about 3/4th full.
  • Bake the cupcake for 18 to 21 mins or until a toothpick inserted into it comes out clean.
  • Let them rest for 5 mins in the pan and then transfer to a wire rack for cooling. Sprinkle it and they are ready to be served.
