Hamburger Soup Recipe

Hamburger soup is a simple recipe. You can make it with potatoes, ground beef and tomato broth.

You can easily find all the ingredients for this soup and they are not expensive. You just have to toss a few veggies, and the soup will taste great.

You can use lean ground beef so that less amount of fat will be removed during cooking. You can store it in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge

The soup will remain fresh for 3-4 days. The soup can even be stored in freezer for almost 3 months.

Ingredients required

  • ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ medium size onion chopped
  • 2 Celery sticks chopped
  • Three garlic cloves minced
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Two heaping tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • One can of diced tomatoes with juices
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • Two large russet potatoes peeled and diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4th teaspoon Italian seasoning

Procedure

  1. Take a large soup pot and add olive oil, onion and celery. Saute everything for almost 5 minutes on medium heat flame till everything gets softened.
  2. Now add garlic and then beef. Cook the beef until it becomes brown. Also make sure not to drain fat too much when you’re using lean ground beef.
  3. Add some tomato paste and stir everything together. Now add diced tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning and potatoes.
  4. Now its time to rise the temperature and make the soup boil for a few minutes and then decrease the temperature and cook the soup for further 20-25 minutes. I’d say you can cook the soup for some more minutes to increase the flavor even more.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and then begin serving.
