Ingredients:
- 1 onion (large) (chopped)
- 5 carrots (medium) (chopped)
- 6 garlic cloves (diced)
- Kosher salt (according to taste)
- 5 celery ribs (chopped)
- 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 pounds of chicken breast (skinless and boneless)
- 1/2 white wine
- Sugar
- Water (around 8 cups)
- Frozen peas (one pound)
- Parsley and thyme (chopped)
- Bay leaves (around 2)
Ingredients for the dumplings
- Unsalted butter (4 tablespoons)
- All-purpose flour (2 cups)
- Kosher salt (according to taste)
- Black pepper and thyme (according to taste)
- Milk (3/4 cups)
- Baking powder (one tablespoon)
Instructions:
- Add all the vegetables to a buttered heavy-bottomed pot and stir them at intervals for about 10 minutes on the heat.
- After the onions have turned translucent, add your garlic cloves and let them sit for about a minute in the pot itself.
- Till this is happening, add your water as well as the white wine slowly to the vegetables.
- Proceed to add your chicken as well as the sugar and bay leaves to be cooked on low heat for about 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked.
- Till the time the soup is getting ready, let jump to our dumplings for which whisk the flour, baking powder with salt and pepper including thyme according to your taste.
