Blueberry Pie Recipe for Dessert

Ingredients For the crust:

  • All purpose flour – 3 cups
  • Granulated sugar -2 tablespoons
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Cold unsalted butter 1 cup
  • Lemon juice -1/2 teaspoon
  • Ice cold water -6-7 tablespoons

Ingredients For the filling

  • Fresh blueberries – 5 cups
  • Cornstarch -5 tablespoons
  • Granulated sugar -1 cup
  • Salt -1 pinch
  • Lemon juice -2 tablespoons

Ingredients for finishing:

  • Egg1
  • Water -1 tablespoon
  • Coarse sugar -1-2 tablespoons

Instructions

  • First we will make a crust.
  • Take a food processor and add flour, salt and sugar.
  • Now turn on the food processor. Set at low speed.
  • Now add a chunk of cold butter one by one.
  • When the mixture combines wells and looks like coarse crumbs.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice and 6 to 7 spoon iced water slowly.
  • When dough combines well take out from the processor and dump it on counter.
  • Divide the dough into two pieces and wrap it with plastic wrap.
  • Keep both the wraps in the fridge for at least 45 minutes. You can chill overnight too.
  • Now we will make the filling.
  • Take a bowl and add blueberries to it.
  • Now add sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and salt and toss and combine well. Keep it aside.
  • Preheat the microwave oven and set the temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Take out the dough wraps from the fridge and keep them aside for 10 minutes.
  • Now place silicon sheet on the counter and sprinkle some flour and also sprinkle on the rolling pin.
  • Take one piece of dough and with the help of a rolling pin roll it into a big circle.
  • Now slowly peel the roll off the counter surface and gently place it backward on the rolling pin and then place it on a pie plate.
  • Now gently press the crust dough on the bottom of the 9-inch pie plate and also set over the edges.
  • Now make a layer of blueberry filling prepared earlier. With the help of a spatula smooth the top.
  • Now sprinkle flour on counterpart and rolling pin and roll out another dough piece in a large roll.
  • Now with the pizza cutter or knife cut 10 long strips.

  • When the color of the crust turns brown turn off the microwave and carefully takes out the pie plate.
  • When the pie cools down up to room temperature add ice cream or whipped cream on the top and serve.
